Ultum Nature Systems' active aqua soil. It buffers the water slightly acidic (about pH 6.8) and lowers hardness, which suits planted Neocaridina tanks. It gives off only a little ammonia at the start, but still cycle the tank fully before adding shrimp.
Black or brown. Extra Fine for nano tanks and top-ups, Fine for short-rooted foreground plants, Normal for bigger tanks and thicker roots.
