About
Seiryu Mountain Stone, or Seiryu stone, is one of the best-known aquascaping rocks. It has sharp, jagged edges and a cool blue-gray color with darker brown and gray streaks, so a few pieces read like a rugged mountain range. It is a classic choice for Iwagumi and nature-style layouts.
Specs
Type: Natural stone · Color: Blue-gray with brown and gray · Weight: 5 or 10 lb per order · Water: Raises GH, KH and pH over time
Using It
Rinse it well to remove dust and debris. Group pieces in clusters at different heights for depth, or use one large stone as the focal point. Moss, anubias and java fern soften the edges. Seiryu contains calcium carbonate, so it slowly hardens the water. That is fine for most Neocaridina, but test your water if you keep soft-water Caridina or plants. The rough faces grow biofilm for shrimp, and the gaps between stones give them cover.
