The Plant
Rotala 'Blood Red' is a stem plant from Asia. Underwater it grows small, narrow, pink-red leaves. It tolerates a range of water and is easy to keep.
Plant Care
Type: Stem plant · Origin: Asia · Height: Up to 10 in · Light: Moderate · CO2: Recommended · Temp: 74–82°F · pH: 5.8–7.4
Planting Tips
Use it in the midground or background of a tank of 10 gallons or more. Trim it regularly, then replant the cut tops in the substrate to fill out the group.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
A full group of stems gives shrimp plenty of leaf surface to graze and makes cover for shrimplets and small fish.
