The Plant
A floating plant from the Amazon Basin with small round leaves, about 0.5 to 1 inch across. Under strong light both the leaves and the dangling roots turn red. It grows at a moderate to fast pace and is easy to keep once it settles.

Planting Tips
Keep surface flow gentle. Dose a complete liquid fertilizer, with iron for deeper red. Thin it so it covers about a third to half of the surface.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
The hanging roots are a favorite hangout for shrimp, who pick biofilm off them, and the shade helps shy shrimp feel safe. As it grows it pulls nitrate straight from the water.
