The Plant
Moneywort is a stem plant from Southeast Asia with oval green leaves set in pairs along the stem. It is a true aquatic plant that tolerates a range of water, so it is a great beginner plant, and it works in aquariums and ponds.
Plant Care
Type: Stem plant · Origin: Southeast Asia · Height: Up to 14 in · Light: Low · CO2: Not required · Temp: 75–82°F · pH: 5.8–7.6
Planting Tips
Use it in the background of a tank of 15 gallons or more. Cut stems replanted in the substrate will root and grow.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
A full group of stems gives shrimp plenty of leaf surface to graze and makes cover for shrimplets and small fish.
