Grows in almost any water, light or temperature and sticks to wood and rock on its own. About as hard to kill as plants get.

The Plant
Taxiphyllum barbieri, also known as Java moss or Boger moss, is a tough moss from Southeast Asia. It asks little in water quality or light and will grow on almost any surface. It thickens to about 3 to 10 cm and works well on stones and roots, for hiding equipment, and as cover for fry in breeding tanks.

Comes as a Tropica tissue culture cup: grown in lab gel, so it arrives free of snails, algae, pests and pesticides. Rinse off the gel and split it into small portions to plant.

Plant Care
Type: Moss
Origin: Asia
Growth rate: Medium
Height: 3 to 10+ cm (after about two months)
Light: Low
CO2: Low

Planting Tips
Tie it to wood, rock or other decor with fishing line or cotton thread until it grips on its own. Trim it with scissors when it gets too thick.

Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
Moss is the classic shrimp plant. Biofilm and fine food settle into it for shrimp to graze, and baby shrimp hide deep inside it.
