The Plant
Staurogyne repens, also called creeping staurogyne, is a foreground plant from South America. It is common in the hobby and, in the right conditions, forms a compact carpet or low bush. It grows slowly and is easy to keep. You get one pot.
Plant Care
Type: Foreground · Origin: South America · Height: Up to 2 in · Light: Moderate · CO2: Not required · Temp: 74–82°F · pH: 6.5–7.6
Planting Tips
Plant it in the foreground of a tank of 10 gallons or more. It does not need CO2, but it grows much better with moderate to high light, CO2 and liquid fertilizer.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
It makes great shelter for shrimp and small bottom feeders, and a dense patch gives shrimplets somewhere to hide while the adults graze the leaves.
