The Plant
Rotala rotundifolia 'Green' (also called Asiatic rotala 'Green'), a form whose leaves stay bright green even under strong light. Stems can reach 40 to 50 cm long and 2 to 3 cm wide, with many side shoots that give it a bushy, slightly drooping shape. It's easy enough for beginners.
Comes as a Tropica tissue culture cup: grown in lab gel, so it arrives free of snails, algae, pests and pesticides. Rinse off the gel and split it into small portions to plant.

Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
Fast-growing stems take up nitrate and ammonia, which helps keep water stable for shrimp, and give them lots of surface to graze.
