The Plant
Rotala indica is a stem plant from India with small leaves. It starts out fully green and slowly turns pink at the tips. It has thin, delicate stems. Most arrive 5 to 10 inches tall, 6 to 10 stems, grown fully submerged; the photos show the actual plant for sale.
Plant Care
Type: Stem plant · Origin: India · Height: Up to 14 in · Light: Moderate to high · CO2: Optional, recommended · Temp: 72–82°F · pH: 6.5–7.6
Planting Tips
Use it in the midground of a tank of 10 gallons or more. Keep it away from fast-swimming fish that could break the thin stems.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
The small leaves along each stem give shrimp lots of surface to graze. AquaticMotiv grows its plants under strong light with injected CO2 and weekly liquid fertilizer, and sends them free of algae and pest snails, so you don't bring hitchhikers into a shrimp tank.
