One of the easier coloured rotalas. Moderate light gives green-orange; strong light and CO2 bring out the red.

The Plant
Rotala rotundifolia 'H’ra' is a fast stem plant with narrow leaves that tends to lean over and creep rather than grow straight up. It is probably a variety of the common species and looks a lot like Rotala sp. 'Green'. It can make a thick orange cushion in the midground or an orange carpet up front.

Comes as a Tropica tissue culture cup: grown in lab gel, so it arrives free of snails, algae, pests and pesticides. Rinse off the gel and split it into small portions to plant.

Plant Care
Type: Stem plant
Origin: Asia
Growth rate: High
Height: 3 to 20+ cm (after about two months)
Light: Medium
CO2: Medium

Planting Tips
For the low, creeping habit and warm orange color, give it strong light, steady fertilizer and added CO2. Plant it in groups in the midground or foreground.

Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
Orange plants make blue, black and yellow shrimp stand out, and the dense stems give shrimp plenty of surface to graze.
