This item is provided by our friends at AquaticMotiv ↗ (opens in a new tab) (Price Matched)
The Plant
Wide green leaves splashed and speckled with red, while new growth under water comes in with a copper-red tint. It is amphibious, so it will send leaves up and out of the water unless you trim them. Hardy and forgiving, it makes a good first sword.
Plant Care
Type: rosette sword plant · Origin: the Americas · Height: up to 18 in · Light: low to moderate · CO2: not required · Temp: 70–82°F · pH: 6.0–7.8
Planting Tips
Best in tanks of 20 gallons or more. Plant the roots with the crown just above the substrate, feed with root tabs, and cut off any leaves heading for the surface to keep it fully underwater.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
Big, spotted leaves give shrimp lots of surface for biofilm grazing and a shaded place to hide. As a heavy feeder it takes up nitrate steadily, helping keep water quality stable.
