When it ships: live animals ship Mondays and Tuesdays only. Order Monday or Tuesday before 11 a.m. Eastern and it ships the same day; order after 11 a.m. Monday and it ships Tuesday; order after 11 a.m. Tuesday or any time Wednesday through Sunday and it ships the next Monday. If weather moves it, we email you. We can’t ship live shrimp or snails to Maine (state law).

Hardy once settled. Keep water stable (match GH when you add them), use a cycled tank and keep copper out.

The Blood Line
Blue Demon Marbled is selected out of our core Orange Eye Blue Demon colony — founder stock from RareShrimp.com, carried through roughly a year of hard culling to a strict standard. Where our solid Blue Demons are culled to uniform body color, the Marbled line is selected for a solid inky blue head and tail with a marbled dark blue body. Every animal offered is bred here, never resold.

Choose Your Grade
High Grade — the top of our Marbled selection: Slight variation from inky-blue to blue-dream head and tail and blue dream-like marbling.
Mid Grade — the Marbled standard, with minor breaks in head or tail color or a lighter body where the high grades would have more prominent blues.
Culls — orange eye Blue Demons that missed our body-color standard: overly patchy color, lighter bodies, uneven saturation, translucency. They may even throw colors such as reds, blacks, and browns. Same orange eye and same genetics at a fraction of graded price, our choice of individuals. They won't breed true to a color standard. Culls come from one shared tank, so they're the same animals whichever Blue Demon listing you order them from.

What You'll Receive
The grade you choose above, in the quantity you pick, of juvenile to young adult shrimp, unsexed unless noted. Order 5 or more of one grade and we add 1 extra shrimp free, as cover for any loss in transit. The stock count on this page is the most one order can take of that grade. Double-bagged 6x14 leak-proof bag with netting for grip, insulated box, seasonal heat pack, printed drip-acclimation sheet.

Water
Ours runs at: temperature 74–76°F · pH 7.1–7.4 · GH 7–8 · KH 2–4 · TDS 190–220.
Neocaridina do well in remineralized RO water or in tap water that falls within these ranges. Test your water before you order, and match GH as closely as you can — it's the swing that kills shrimp, not the value.
For any livestock, the tank should be fully cycled: test it first and make sure ammonia and nitrite both read 0.

Shipping
Ships Monday and Tuesday only, by UPS 2nd Day Air or UPS Next Day Air, with the exact rate shown at checkout. Free 2nd Day Air on orders of $200 or more. We hold during extreme heat or cold and will contact you to reschedule — your shrimp are never shipped into weather that puts them at risk.

Live Arrival Guarantee
Film the unopened bag as you first open it, shrimp visible, within 2 hours of delivery. The bag must be unopened when filming begins. Same guarantee across every grade — cull pricing doesn't mean cull treatment. Coverage depends on the shipping you choose: cash refund on Next Day Air, store credit on 2nd Day Air, and single shrimp are covered on Next Day Air only. See our refund policy for details.

Care Basics
Drip acclimate over 1–2 hours. No copper — check fish medications and plant fertilizers. Keep GH stable. Feed lightly; established biofilm does most of the work.

Tank Mates
Good with: snails (nerite, mystery, rabbit, ramshorn) and Amano shrimp, which can't crossbreed with them. Small, calm fish such as otocinclus, pygmy corydoras and small rasboras usually leave adults alone. Avoid: bettas, gouramis, cichlids, loaches, puffers, crayfish and any fish big enough to fit a shrimp in its mouth. Almost every fish eats shrimplets, so a breeding colony does best in a shrimp-only tank. Other Neocaridina colors will crossbreed with them.

Shrimp arrived well and look good, nice dark blue. There was a mishap and I was sent the wrong order but the seller preemptively figured it out and took care of it all himself. I end up with extra shrimp for another tank so it was no big deal for me. I ended up liking one of the pale cull/wild

Super cool shrimp! I think they’re the best looking orange eye strain since the dark blue base really makes the orange eyes pop.
