Using It
Rinse it and soak it in water before it goes in to draw out the tannins. Boiling speeds this up if the piece fits a pot. Some pieces float at first; leave it in a bucket of water until it sinks, which usually takes about a day. Use it as a centerpiece or tie moss and anubias to it. Shrimp graze the biofilm that grows on the wood and use its gaps for cover.
