The Plant
Micranthemum tweediei 'Monte Carlo' is a green carpet plant from Argentina, named after the town of Monte Carlo in Misiones Province, where it was first collected. It has tiny, round leaves and is one of very few foreground plants that grow with no CO2 and low light, so it suits beginners.

Planting Tips
Plant it across the foreground of a tank of 10 gallons or more. It carpets fairly quickly once settled.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
It makes great shelter for shrimp and small bottom feeders, and a dense patch gives shrimplets somewhere to hide while the adults graze the leaves.
