The Plant
Ludwigia senegalensis, also called Ludwigia sp. 'Guinea', is a rare stem plant from Africa. Its round leaves are dark orange with bright red veins, and they turn redder under high light. It is a medium-care plant.
Plant Care
Type: Stem plant · Origin: Africa · Height: Up to 8 in · Light: Moderate to high · CO2: Recommended · Temp: 75–82°F · pH: 6.2–7.4
Planting Tips
Use it in the midground of a tank of 15 gallons or more. Trim it regularly, then replant the cut tops in the substrate to fill out the group.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
The round leaves give shrimp flat surfaces to graze, a group makes shelter for small fish, and the orange-red pops behind dark or blue shrimp.
