The Plant
Windelov is a lacy java fern: medium-length, narrow green leaves that split into a frilly fan at each tip. Like other java ferns, it is extremely hardy, a good pick for beginners, and holds up with some cichlids that shred softer plants. Growth is slow and steady. Plants ship free of algae and pest snails.

Planting Tips
Tie or glue it to wood or rock; it does not feed from the substrate, and a buried rhizome rots. Fine for tanks of 10 gallons and up.

Java fern is about as hard to kill as plants get. Shrimp graze biofilm off every leaf, and the base of a mounted fern makes a favorite hiding spot.
