Very easy in moderate light, no CO2 needed. Tops turn bronze in brighter light.

The Plant
Bacopa caroliniana is an easy stem plant from North America. Its stems grow 10 to 30 cm long and 3 to 4 cm wide. It grows slowly, so it needs little upkeep, and it looks best planted in small groups.

Comes as a Tropica tissue culture cup: grown in lab gel, so it arrives free of snails, algae, pests and pesticides. Rinse off the gel and split it into small portions to plant.

Plant Care
Type: Stem plant
Origin: North America
Growth rate: Slow
Height: 20 to 30+ cm (after about two months)
Light: Low
CO2: Low

Planting Tips
Plant the stems in small groups. To get more, cut off a side shoot and push it into the substrate. It does better with fairly good light, even though it asks for little else.

Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
The thick stems give shrimp plenty of surface to graze, and its slow growth means you rarely have to disturb the tank to trim it.
