This item is provided by our friends at AquaticMotiv ↗ (opens in a new tab) (Price Matched)
The Plant
Nangi is a hybrid anubias with narrow, pointed green leaves, a slimmer look than the usual round-leaf types. It is very hardy and forgiving of different water, which makes it a good first anubias. It ships potted. Native to Africa and farmed worldwide.
Plant Care
Type: Rhizome · Origin: Africa · Height: about 4 in. (max 14 in.) · Light: Low to moderate · CO2: Not required · Temp: 75–82°F · pH: 6.8–7.8
Planting Tips
Remove the pot and fix the rhizome to rock, wood or decor in the midground with thread or plant glue. Keep the rhizome above the substrate. Cut the rhizome to split off new plants.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
Shrimp graze the biofilm that forms on its leaves, and the plant makes a shady spot where shrimplets can hide. It is slow, tough, and never on the shrimp menu, while it quietly takes up nitrate.
