The Plant
Anubias nana 'Petite' (Anubias barteri var. nana 'Petite') is the smallest anubias. Its round green leaves are only about an inch across, and the plant stays under 3 inches tall. It is native to Africa, farmed worldwide, and very easy, handling a wide range of water. This one ships potted.
Plant Care
Type: Rhizome · Origin: Africa · Height: up to 3 in. · Light: Low to moderate · CO2: Not required · Temp: 75-82°F · pH: 6.8-7.8
Planting Tips
Take it out of the pot, then tie or glue the rhizome to a rock or decor in the foreground or midground of a tank of 10 gallons or more. Keep the rhizome above the substrate. Cut the rhizome to split off a new plant and attach it somewhere else.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
Its tiny size suits nano shrimp tanks. The tight clusters of leaves give shrimplets cover and hold biofilm for grazing, and shrimp never eat it. Slow growth means it keeps its shape for months.
