Grows in low light with no CO2 and almost nothing eats it. Unpot it and tie it to wood or rock; a buried rhizome rots.

The Plant
A broad-leaf form of Anubias barteri, an African rhizome plant now farmed worldwide. It grows wide, pointed green leaves up to about 6 inches long and can reach 14 inches tall. It is very hardy, adapts to most water and ships potted.

Plant Care
Type: Rhizome · Origin: Africa · Height: up to 14 in. · Light: Low to moderate · CO2: Not required · Temp: 75–82°F · pH: 6.8–7.8

Planting Tips
Take it out of the pot and mount the rhizome on rock or decor in the midground of a 10-gallon or larger tank. Keep the rhizome above the substrate. Cut off a section of rhizome to start a new plant.

Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
Broad leaves mean more surface for biofilm, which baby shrimp graze between feedings. Nothing in a shrimp tank will eat it, it needs almost no trimming, and the wide leaves make a shaded ledge where shrimp like to sit.
