Needs warm water (76-84 F), pH 7.5 or higher and regular sinking food. Breeds very slowly and can go hungry in a very clean tank.

The Snail
Spotlight rabbit snails carry bright yellow markings that light up against a long, rugged brown spiral shell. Most arrive at 2 to 3.5 inches and can grow to 4.5. They have the classic droopy, elephant-like face and come wild-caught from Indonesian lakes, so a shell may be chipped.

Care
Temp: 77–84°F · pH: 7.6–8.4 · GH: 6–8 · KH: 4–8 · Size: Up to 4.5 inches · Tank: 20 gallons or more · Lifespan: Up to 3 years

Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
The yellow shows up well under tank lights, which makes it an easy snail to spot among plants. It spends its time grazing film algae across the substrate, never bothers shrimp or healthy plants, and will not overpopulate. Offer pellets, flakes or zucchini as extra food, and keep copper out.

Tank Mates
Good with: shrimp and other snails that like the same warm, hard water, plus peaceful community fish. They suit a Neocaridina tank kept on the warm side. Avoid: loaches, puffers, crayfish, crabs and large cichlids, and tanks kept cool.
