The Snail
Miratesta celebensis snails belong to the ramshorn family (Planorbidae) and breathe air. They have light gray, left-coiling shells that are very hard and rugged. They are very passive, but they are a hard-care snail best kept by experienced keepers. They live up to 3 years. You get 2 snails. They are wild-caught, so some shells may show wear.
Care
Temp: 77–84°F · pH: 7.6–8.4 · GH: 6–8 · KH: 4–8 · Tank: 20 gallons or more
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
They eat algae for most of their life and are calm with tank mates. They need warm, hard water. Leave a gap at the top of the tank so they can climb out of the water, and keep a lid on. Never use copper.
Tank Mates
Good with: shrimp and other calm tank mates that like the same warm, hard water. Avoid: assassin snails, which hunt other snails, and fish big enough to eat them.
