About
Seachem Matrix is a biological filter media for fresh and saltwater. Its porous spheres give bacteria plenty of room: the outer surface hosts aerobic bacteria that handle ammonia and nitrite, and the deep inner pores host anaerobic bacteria that reduce nitrate. It's inert and doesn't break down easily.

Using It
Rinse it before it goes into your filter. Later on, rinse it only in old tank water so the bacteria survive.
