The Plant
Hygrophila lancea 'Araguaia' is a less common midground plant from Asia with thin, dark red leaves. It is easy to propagate, but it is a moderate-care plant: it needs CO2 and good light, and then it creeps around the midground. You get one pot.
Plant Care
Type: Midground · Origin: Asia · Height: Up to 8 in · Light: Moderate to high · CO2: Required · Temp: 75–80°F · pH: 6.8–7.5
Planting Tips
Use it in the midground of a tank of 10 gallons or more with CO2 and moderate to high light.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
The fine red leaves make good shelter for shrimp and small fish and add color against green plants.
