The Plant
Dwarf hairgrass (Eleocharis parvula) is a green, grass-like foreground plant found from North and South America to Europe and Asia. It is surprisingly hardy and easy to keep. It needs no CO2 and grows best with medium to high light, spreading into a compact carpet. You get one pot.
Plant Care
Type: Grass-like carpet · Origin: North and South America, Europe and Asia · Height: Up to 4 in · Light: Moderate · CO2: Not required · Temp: 74–82°F · pH: 6.5–7.6
Planting Tips
Plant it across the foreground of a tank of 10 gallons or more. Give it enough light and it will spread on its own.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
It makes great shelter for shrimp and small bottom feeders, and a dense patch gives shrimplets somewhere to hide while the adults graze the leaves.
