The Plant
Bucephalandra 'Red Scorpio' comes from the riverbanks of Borneo, Indonesia. Buce plants are known for their wide range of leaf shapes, textures and iridescent colors, and for easy care. This one stays low, up to about 1 inch, and grows slowly in both low-tech and high-tech tanks, from nano to large. Pick your pack size when you add to cart.
Plant Care
Type: Rhizome · Origin: Borneo · Height: Up to 1 in · Light: Low to moderate · CO2: Not required · Temp: 75–82°F · pH: 6.8–7.8
Planting Tips
Attach the rhizome to rock, driftwood or decor, or grow it in the foreground or midground of a tank of 10 gallons or more. To propagate, cut the rhizome and attach the piece somewhere new.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
It grows slowly with little upkeep, and the leaves make shelter for small fish and shrimp. Grown on hardscape, it adds grazing surface right where shrimp spend their time.
