The Plant
Brownie Phoenix shows glossy leaves in deep green with purple tones. It's a low-light Buce from Borneo that grows at a steady pace, reaches about 2 inches, and does best in stable water.
Plant Care
Type: Rhizome plant · Origin: Borneo, Indonesia · Growth: Steady · Height: up to 2 in · Light: Low to moderate · CO2: Not required · Temp: 75-82°F · pH: 6.8-7.8
Planting Tips
Attach it to rock or wood in the foreground or midground with the rhizome clear of the substrate. Split the rhizome to spread it around the tank.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
Stable, low-light tanks are what shrimp want too, so it fits right in. The leaves collect biofilm for grazing, and the dark color makes red and yellow shrimp stand out.
