The Plant
Brownie Neo forms neat, compact tufts that sit well on branches and stones. Its leaves are green, ruffled and glossy, and the plant stays around 2 inches. It grows steadily in low light and needs little trimming.
Plant Care
Type: Rhizome plant · Origin: Borneo, Indonesia · Growth: Steady · Height: up to 2 in · Light: Low to moderate · CO2: Not required · Temp: 75-82°F · pH: 6.8-7.8
Planting Tips
Tie or glue it to driftwood branches for a natural look, and don't bury the rhizome. Cut sections off the rhizome to start new tufts.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
Dense tufts on wood give baby shrimp a sheltered spot up off the substrate. The plant pulls nitrate from the water, and shrimp spend hours picking biofilm off the leaves.
