The Plant
Anubias barteri 'Mini Coin', a Tropica cultivar and one of the smallest anubias you can get. Its round, deep green leaves are about the size of a fingernail, and it branches on its own into a thick, low cushion. Easy and slow, it suits nano tanks and adds fine detail to bigger scapes.
Comes as a Tropica tissue culture cup: grown in lab gel, so it arrives free of snails, algae, pests and pesticides. Rinse off the gel and split it into small portions to plant.
Plant Care
Type: Rhizome plant
Origin: Cultivar
Growth rate: Slow
Height: 3 to 10+ cm (after about two months)
Light: Low
CO2: Low
Planting Tips
It does best tied or glued to rock or wood. If you plant it in the substrate, keep the rhizome above it so it doesn't rot. Once the clump fills in, divide it and replant the pieces around the tank.
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
The slow, tough leaves stay put and collect biofilm, and shrimp can graze every side of it on wood or rock.
