Small, easy algae grazer for nano and shrimp tanks. Needs algae or extra food, GH about 6 or higher and a lid.

The Snail
Sun horned nerites (Clithon donovani), also called thorny snails, have patterned shells with long spikes sticking out. They come in brown, tan and green, but the black and yellow spiral form gives them the name. They are very active, spend most of the day looking for algae, and live about 1 year. Pick your pack size when you add to cart. Some shells may show small flaws.

Care
Temp: 72–82°F · pH: 7.4–8.0 · GH: 6–8 · KH: 2–12 · Tank: 5 gallons or more

Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
They spend most of the day eating algae, and they also take algae wafers, invertebrate pellets, zucchini and dead plant matter. They are plant safe and very peaceful, so they leave shrimp alone. Never use copper.

Tank Mates
Good with: shrimp, other snails and peaceful community fish. Avoid: assassin snails, which hunt other snails, and fish big enough to eat them.
