Choose a Pack:
Needs warm water (76-84 F), pH 7.5 or higher and regular sinking food. Breeds very slowly and can go hungry in a very clean tank.

The Snail
This is one of the big rabbit snails, with a long black and white spiral shell that can reach 4.5 inches. The body is jet black and dotted with white, finished with the droopy, elephant-like face rabbit snails are known for. They are wild-caught from Indonesian lakes, so a shell may show some old wear.

Care
Temp: 77–84°F · pH: 7.6–8.4 · GH: 6–8 · KH: 4–8 · Size: Up to 4.5 inches · Tank: 20 gallons or more · Lifespan: Up to 3 years

Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
Calm and busy day and night, it ignores plants and shrimp while working through algae, leftover pellets and dead leaves. It will not overrun the tank. Add pellets or zucchini when algae is thin, and keep copper out.

Tank Mates
Good with: shrimp and other snails that like the same warm, hard water, plus peaceful community fish. They suit a Neocaridina tank kept on the warm side. Avoid: loaches, puffers, crayfish, crabs and large cichlids, and tanks kept cool.
