The Snail
White giant Hercules snails (Brotia herculea) live up to their name: they can grow over 4 inches. They come from rivers across Thailand and Burma and are very rare in the hobby, a big show snail for the tank. They live up to 4 years. Pick your pack size when you add to cart. Some shells may show small flaws.
Care
Temp: 68–82°F · pH: 6.8–7.8 · GH: 6–8 · KH: 5–20 · Tank: 10 gallons or more
Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
They clean up invertebrate pellets, flake food, dead plant matter, snail tabs and even dead fish. They are safe with any tank mates, shrimp included. They give birth to live, very tiny babies only about 3 times a year, so they won't overrun a tank. Never use copper.
Tank Mates
Good with: shrimp, other snails and peaceful fish. Avoid: assassin snails, which hunt other snails, and fish big enough to eat them.
