Needs warm water (76-84 F), pH 7.5 or higher and regular sinking food. Breeds very slowly and can go hungry in a very clean tank.

The Snail
King rabbit snails (Cerithidea sp.) share a name with Sulawesi rabbit snails but are a different, rare animal: a semi-aquatic snail from brackish coastal mangroves and tidal estuaries in Southeast Asia and the Indo-Pacific. They have heavy, long spiral shells in tan, beige and deep chocolate and reach 1.5 to 2 inches. They spend part of the day underwater grazing and part resting above the waterline. You get 2 snails. They are wild-caught, so some shells may show wear.

Care
Water: Brackish · Temp: 75–82°F · pH: 7.5–8.5 · Tank: 10 gallons or more, with a land area

Why Shrimp Keepers Like It
This is a brackish snail, so it does not belong in a freshwater shrimp tank. It suits a brackish tank or paludarium with fine sand or silt to burrow in, and wood, roots or stones that break the surface. They graze biofilm, algae and leaf litter; add sinking algae wafers, blanched vegetables and calcium-rich pellets. Use a tight lid with no gaps, since they climb out often. Never use copper.

Tank Mates
Good with: peaceful tank mates in a brackish setup. Not for: freshwater tanks, including Neocaridina shrimp tanks.
